CHANGE OF USE, FIRE DAMAGED, ALTERTIONS, STRUCTURAL DAMAGE – STRUCTURAL STRENGTHENING
Structural strengthening
Having undertaken all crack sealing with a moisture tolerant Contite PUE300/301 polyurethane resin
Spalled concrete, old honeycombs and other imperfections shall be repaired after suitable surface preparation using Congard ST surface tolerant epoxy coating to exposed reinforcement and Conpatch 600HS high strength >70N/MM2 ,high build 60mm , polymer modified repair mortar containing a corrosion inhibitor
All areas of concrete shall be treated with Conpatch NCI migrating corrosion inhibitor before the installation of the structural strengthening
Apply to correctly prepared surfaces Condur CF(HP) Carbon Fibre fabric or plates to columns ,beams or soffits as specified.
After the epoxy is cured apply two coats of Elastoclad at 400 micon DF T

Remove all traces of the old system
Bituminous systems will have impregnated the concrete removal is almost impossible .Use a moisture barrier Floorgard MB in two coats 300 micons to seal in the bitumen and to prevent moisture vapour transmission interfering with the new waterproofing system .
Moisture barriers are required to protect all waterproof membranes unless cement based eg Contite CFM
Apply Elastoclad PU over the moisture barrier to 1.2mm dry film thickness in two coats
Alternatively for very long term waterproofing in aggressive environments apply Contite Polyurea at 2mm (Recommended )

Remove all traces of previous coatings old repairs
Where required remove concrete back to reinforcement coat exposed reinforcement with Congard ST surface tolerant reinforcement protection coating
Reprofile the surface with Conpatch 600HS high strength>7on/mm2 ,high build 60mm polymer modified repair mortar containing a migrating corrosion inhibitor for the under sides of balconies /soffits use Conpatch 675
Apply Conpatch NCI migrating corrosion inhibitor to all surfaces
Apply two coats of Anti carbonation coating Elastoclad at 400 micron DFT
Joints and expansion joints should be cleaned out primed and Conflex polysulphide installed over Conflex backer rods
Excessive movement joints repair and seal with Contite Flex Band 100 mm wide 1 mm thick For detailed method statements and for repairs to other areas contact Cormix
